Is Whispering Waves good for a big family trip with kids and a dog?
Yes, Whispering Waves sleeps 16+ across 6 bedrooms, the backyard is fully fenced with a heated seasonal pool, a hot tub open all year, a playscape with a slide, a sandbox, and a propane fire pit, and dogs are welcome, all a 15 to 20 minute walk from the South Haven beach.
Everything a kid needs is inside the fence. The playscape has a slide and swings, the sandbox sits beside it, and the pool has deck space for the adults to sit close. The dog gets the same fenced yard. Parents get to sit down.
Inside, there are two separate living rooms and both are stocked with games: an arcade machine, air hockey, and foosball. Each living room has a 75 inch smart TV, so the kids can run a movie in one room while the adults watch something else in the other.
Family gear is already there: a crib in the primary suite, a Pack n Play, a high chair, and baby safety gates. Bedroom 1 on the main level puts a queen bed and a twin over twin bunk in the same room, which works for parents with small kids.
Two families fit. Sleeps 16+ counting air mattresses, which means you can bring the other family, and the full kitchen has a dishwasher, a Keurig, an Instant Pot, and dinnerware for 16. A propane grill is out back.
The beach is the bonus walk, 15 to 20 minutes via the Blue Stairs, and downtown South Haven is 5 minutes on foot. South Haven is about 2 hours from Chicago and an easy drive from across Michigan and from Indianapolis.
House rules that matter for a group: 16 guests maximum including day visitors, no parties, quiet hours 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and no smoking anywhere on the property.
