Traveling with Kids?
Brooklyn is secretly one of the best cities for kids. Here are the locals' picks.
Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6
One of the best playgrounds in the city. Water Lab splash zone, Slide Mountain, Swing Valley, sand volleyball. Plus waterfront views the whole time.

Rainy Day?

Spectacle Theater
124 S 3rd St. Volunteer-run, $5 tickets, bring your own snacks, rare films you won't see elsewhere. The most Brooklyn thing on this list.
The City Reliquary Museum
370 Metropolitan Ave. Quirky community museum in a storefront celebrating NYC history. Small, weird, totally charming. Thu-Sun 12-6pm.
Rough Trade
64 N 9th St. Brooklyn's biggest record store, live music venue, and coffee shop in one. Spend an hour flipping through vinyl. Or three hours, nobody's counting.
Touristy Thing That's Actually Worth It
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise. Yes, everyone does it. But at 6am there's almost nobody there, the light is unreal, and you'll understand why it's a thing. Grab coffee in DUMBO after and walk back along the waterfront.
Best Photo Spot
Williamsburg Bridge pedestrian path at golden hour. Industrial steel, the East River below, Manhattan in the distance. Or just Domino Park at sunset. Both are impossible to mess up.

How Everything Works
🌱 Backyard Oasis
One of the most-loved features of Brooklyn Bliss, guests mention it constantly. The fully fenced shared backyard has a hammock for afternoon reading, a gas grill for cookouts, a propane fire pit for late-night hangs, and string lights that turn the whole space into a city secret. It's exactly what you don't expect to find in Brooklyn, and it never gets old.
The backyard is shared with other building residents. Please be respectful of neighbors after 10 PM and leave the space clean so everyone can enjoy it.
🔥 Fire Pit
Remove the cover and lid. Slowly open the propane valve counterclockwise, turn the ignition knob counterclockwise to "start" and listen for the flame. Adjust with the same knob. When done, turn knob to "off," close propane valve, wait 5 minutes, replace lid and cover. Never leave unattended.
🍴 Grill
Gas grill in the backyard. Open lid before lighting. Ensure burner knobs are off, slowly open propane valve, wait a minute, then press and hold ignition while turning burner to "High." Preheat 10-15 min with lid closed. Brush off residue after use and replace the cover when cool.
🏝️ The Bedrooms
Primary Bedroom: Queen bed, Smart TV, loveseat for lounging, and a dedicated workspace desk + chair. Room-darkening shades so you can actually sleep in. Bright natural light when you want it.
Second Bedroom: Queen bed with its own private ensuite bathroom, a genuine NYC rarity. If you're two couples or a family with older kids, this room makes the whole trip infinitely more comfortable. No sharing, no waiting.
📺 TV & Streaming

😌 Electric Fireplace
Electric fireplace in the living room. Works for ambiance and can give off heat too. Controlled via remote. Please turn off when not in use.
🌡️ Heating & AC
Wall-mounted mini-split units in each room (both heating and cooling). Slide down the remote cover to reveal controls. Press MODE for snowflake (AC) or sun (heat), use arrow buttons to adjust. Please turn off AC and heat when not in use to conserve energy.
🧺 Laundry
Free washer and dryer in the building basement (shared). Basic detergent provided. Iron and ironing board are in the Bedroom 1 closet (board is between the side of the closet and wall).
💻 Remote Work Setup
Brooklyn Bliss is fully remote-work ready. FIOS delivers 100+ Mbps, fast enough for simultaneous video calls, uploads, and streaming. A dedicated desk with ergonomic chair is in the primary bedroom, plus an ethernet port in the living room for wired connections when you need zero-lag reliability. The apartment stays quiet enough to focus even during full workdays.
🍳 Kitchen
Fully stocked: fridge, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, toaster, and electric kettle. Dinnerware for 4, pots, pans, baking sheets, wine glasses, and BBQ utensils. We stock complimentary coffee pods, tea, sugar, and creamer to get your first morning started right. Use only detergent pods for the dishwasher (under the sink). If you're cooking more seriously, there's a full pantry starter kit and spice rack.
